Course Characteristics

This course offers two different modalities. See how they work:

Mode 1: you can watch the pre-recorded lessons, which reproduce the real class, anytime you want to (Self-Study)

Mode 2: you can be part of the live virtual classes. You will meet the teacher and classmates in a virtual room which integrates audio, interactive board and the use of webcam for those who want to use it at a pre-arranged time. The classes last approximately 60-120 minutes each.

You can start this course anytime.

The course will requiere 80 hours (30 hours of input lessons, 50 hours individual work on the platform, plus self-study).

The course is thought to be done in 3 - 6 months. This may vary according to each person’s pace, so you can choose to do the course over a longer period of time.

Courses Format 

There are different types of courses. 

Short courses: Essential, Essential Plus, which deal with specific topics and Complete Courses: In Depth, Mastering English, which deal with wider areas of knowledge.

The length and duration are different for each type of course. You can do the short courses one by one and get credits for a complete course certificate, or you can do the complete course at once (In-Depth, Mastering English) which will include all the topics offered in the Essential courses.

It is the ideal course for in-service teachers or teacher trainees who want to have deep background knowledge to apply in their own lessons.

It is essential for those who want to prepare for  TKT: 1-3 Cambridge English exam (teaching qualifications)

• Language terminology to describe the English language
• Analysis of the 4 basic skills (writing, speaking, listening, reading) and how to develop them
• Teaching methodologies and analysis of learning theories
• Lesson planning: its components and sequence
• Use of different resources in the classroom to promote learning
• Classroom management and the learning process

Course Development

This course can be done in two different modalities:

Course development Mode 1:  the course consists of short pre-recorded lessons, which will effectively guide you throughout the course, providing clear explanations and examples, for you to grasp them at once! It is ideal to work at your own pace and it can be done anytime, anywhere. (self-study). See how the recorded lessons are.

Course development Mode 2:  The course consists of live lessons of approximately 60-120 minutes each, done in a virtual room which integrates audio, interactive board and the use of webcam for those who want to use it. There are approximately 15 lessons. You will be interacting with your classmates and tutor, being able to ask any questions along the course. The time is set. You choose the one convenient to you. See how the virtual meetings are.

In both modalities, you will have access to our Virtual Campus where you will do some practice online and check the assignments after each class. Study notes for each lesson are available there.

All the material needed for the course will be provided.

Assessment

At the end of the course, you will have a final exam which evaluates what has been learnt along the course. The tests are done completely online in our Virtual Campus.

Certificates awarded

You will receive a Statement of Completion for you to save and print.

This will show that you have successfully completed this course and are a qualified teacher. 

Credits obtained

60 credits for 230-Hour TTC Course: Teacher's Certificate in TEFL or 150-Hour Teacher’s Certificate in TEFL

2. Confirmation of Application

Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email message, stating the course you have registered for and its main characteristics.

3. Details for payment

You will also receive an email message from PayPal with a payment request. Please follow the instructions there to complete the process. You do not need to have a PayPal account in order to proceed with the payment.

4. Login details and instructions

Once the payment has been processed, you will receive an email message within the following 48 hours. It will have your login details and instructions for accessing our virtual campus where you will have everything at hand to successfully complete the course.
