This course will help you prepare for the Writing Paper in the PET Exam-Cambridge English.

You will be writing in the different formats required in the exam. The course will help you identify the purpose and the audience in each of them.

You can send up to 6 pieces of writing. They will be sent back, highlighting your weaknesses and strengths to help you keep improving and be ready for the exam.

Starting Date and Duration

You can start this course whenever suits you, as you will be working at your own pace.

The course will require 6-8 hours approximately of self-study. It is supposed to be completed within 1-4 months (it will depend on your time availability and work). You can ask for an extension of the deadline if needed

This Essential Plus Course can be combined with other courses dealing with the other exam areas such as Speaking PET - Exam preparation - 5 Live Sessions for a more complete preparation.

If you still feel you need extra practice, you can do the course again to get 6 additional corrections and feedback.

Courses Format

There are different types of courses. 

Short courses: Essential, Essential Plus, which deal with specific topics and Complete Courses: In Depth, Mastering English, which deal with wider areas of knowledge.

The length and duration are different for each type of course. You can do the short courses one by one and get credits for a complete course certificate, or you can do the complete course at once (In-Depth, Mastering English) which will include all the topics offered in the Essential courses

Content

The course will help you get prepared for the Writing Paper of the PET exam.

Along the course, you will be asked to write in the following formats (required in the exam):

• a short communicative message: a note, email, postcard
• a longer piece of writing: an informal letter or a story

In order to get satisfactory results, the course will  help you to:

• reinforce your knowledge of the key elements in each specific format
• use expressions and vocabulary suitable for each of them
• identify who the writing is intended for

Course Development

This is an intensive course which is done completely online.

The course consists of the following:

• Writing according to the instructions given for each task
• Upload your writing tasks in our Virtual Campus for correction
• Analyse the feedback you get on each of them in order to learn and get better.

Assessment

The assessment is done through the writing pieces you send for correction.

It consists of the feedback sent to you for each of the writing tasks corrected.

You will have completed the course when:

• You have done all the tasks assigned
• You have analysed the corresponding feedback on each of them (personal reflection)

Certificates awarded

You will receive a Statement of Completion for you to save and print.

How to enrol in a course?

2. Confirmation of Application

Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email message, stating the course you have registered for and its main characteristics.

3. Details for payment

You will also receive an email message from PayPal with a payment request. Please follow the instructions there to complete the process. You do not need to have a PayPal account in order to proceed with the payment.

4. Login details and instructions

Once the payment has been processed, you will receive an email message within the following 48 hours. It will have your login details and instructions for accessing our virtual campus where you will have everything at hand to successfully complete the course.
